Bulgaria's first cadet women's team finished second in the Svechnikov Cup international fencing tournament, valid for the European Cup. The competition held here on Saturday saw Ralitsa Gadzheva, Mina Georgieva, Teodora Yankova, and Nikoleta Dobreva win the silver after competing against 38 other teams from 12 countries.

Gadzheva, Georgieva, Yankova, and Dobreva started directly in the second round of the eliminations and defeated Greece's fifth team 45-25. In the next match, they eliminated Bulgaria's third team 45-35. This was followed by another victory, this time over Germany's second team 45-40. To reach the final, the Bulgarian team defeated Turkiye's first team 45-37. In the final, the Bulgarian fencers lost to Germany's first team 23-45.

The tournament continues on Monday with the individual competition for cadets and the team competition for cadets.
