On Stara Zagora Day, October 5, Stefan Valdobrev and his band The Usual Suspects recorded parts of a new song at the Stadion Beroe in Stara Zagora, after previously having recorded at the Stara Zagora State Opera. The sports facility was another location whose acoustics were used to enrich the sound of the musicians' upcoming album.
Valdobrev emphasized that he toured 26 different sites in Bulgaria for the Acoustics of Bulgaria project, with each of them close to his heart and approved by the Culture Ministry. In Stara Zagora, he had included only two sites initially, namely the State Opera and the Theatre. "The Opera House, because that's where I first felt my love for music, and the Theatre because back then it was a community centre and theatre in one. And I was there on the top floor at the Poetry Circle, in the Basement I took classical guitar classes, on the second floor was the Youth Theatre. I didn't leave this place, which is so very close to me", he recalled.
He noted that when he started recording on the new project, which, thanks to the Bulgarian News Agency, became very popular, people kept asking him where he will record next. "Everyone suggested new places and venues", he pointed out, adding that people kept asking him where in Stara Zagora he will record his songs specifically. Valdobrev recalled that they would become quite disappointed that the stadium is not included on his tour. "Why are you not going to record at the stadium? Many people were like that", he recalled. "So I said to myself that the stadium should be included too", he said, adding that people seemed to often affiliate him with the stadium and the Central station in the city.
