The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices Choir Brings Down the House at "Voices and Strings" Concert in Plovdiv

Plovdiv locals and visitors gave a warm ovation to the renowned female choir The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices during the “Voices and Strings” concert at the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv. The choir shared the stage with the string ensemble Quatro Quartet and world beatbox champion Alexander Deyanov – SkilleR.

Together, the artists presented their collaborative project “Voices and Strings” - a unique fusion of seemingly contrasting styles, combining Bulgarian folk music, Western classical traditions, and contemporary sounds. The project was conceived by conductor Georgi Andreev, who welcomed the audience at the start of the performance.

The concert concluded with a special appearance by the popular Bulgarian duo Molec. For the first time, a brand-new acoustic version of their song “Vyatara” (“The Wind”), recorded last year with the choir, was performed live.

The audience sang along to some of Molec’s biggest hits, now reimagined with the haunting harmonies of The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices, the rich string textures of Quatro Quartet, and SkilleR’s innovative beatboxing.
