Scottish metal band Alestorm will hold a concert in Sofia on November 29, organizers from BGTSC said on Monday. The event at the Joy Station club in the capital is part of Alestorm’s European tour promoting their latest album, The Thunderfist Chronicles, released two months ago by Napalm Records.
Alestorm was founded in 2004 in Perth, Scotland, under the name Battleheart, a studio project by Christopher Bowes and Gavin Harper. Initially conceived as a standard power metal band, the success of the song Heavy Metal Pirates convinced the group to adopt a permanent pirate theme and incorporate folk metal elements into their music. The current line-up includes lead vocalist/keyboardist Christopher Bowes, bassist Gareth Murdock, drummer Peter Alcorn, keyboardist and vocalist Elliot Vernon, and guitarist Mate Bodor. After signing with Napalm Records in 2007, their debut album, Captain Morgan's Revenge, was released on January 25, 2008.
