site.btaBulgarian Classical Music Showcased in Hanoi at Anniversary Concert

Works of Bulgarian classical music were performed by well-known Vietnamese singers and musicians during a music evening in Hanoi marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Vietnam, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Hanoi said on Monday.

The music evening took place on December 17, 2023, in the concert hall of the Vietnam National Academy of Music. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Hanoi and the Vietnam National Academy of Music with support from the National Academy of Music Prof. Pancho Vladigerov.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong was the guest of honour at the concert. The audience also included foreign ambassadors and diplomats, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam and the Ministry of Justice of Vietnam, and staff members from the foreign ministry and members of the Vietnam–Bulgaria Friendship Association.

The programme of the concert featured selected works of Bulgarian classical music. The public heard pieces by Pancho Vladigerov, Georgi Zlatev-Cherkin, Dimitar Nenov, Milcho Leviev, Todor Popov and Lyubomir Pipkov, performed by well-known Vietnamese singers and musicians with a high level of musical precision and classical vocal technique, the Bulgarian diplomatic mission noted.

The programme also included works by two established Vietnamese composers, one of whom is a graduate of a Bulgarian music educational institution.
