The Association of Bulgarian Folklore Ensembles Abroad (ABFEA) described the outgoing 2025 as a “strong, emotional, and unifying” year, marking significant achievements for Bulgarian folklore communities around the world. The ABFEA Board published a review of the past year and New Year’s greetings on its official Facebook page, highlighting the association’s growth and activities.

The organization now brings together 60 folklore groups from around the globe, united by a passion for Bulgarian traditions.

In 2025, ABFEA participated in the 10th edition of the travelling festival "On the Town Square of the Other Bulgaria" [Na Megdana na Drugata Balgaria] in Lyon, organized its first festival for Bulgarian groups abroad in Veliko Tarnovo, and hosted the fourth creative meeting and seminar for group leaders in Sofia.

The Association expressed gratitude to its members and partners for their support. "2026 will be special for us, as ABFEA celebrates 10 years with even more ideas, meetings, stages, and joint initiatives,” the Board wrote.

ABFEA is a non-profit organization, officially founded on October 28, 2016, and registered as a cultural organization with Bulgaria’s Ministry of Culture.
