The State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (SABA) has outlined the main priorities of its work for 2026, according to information published on the agency’s official website. Key areas of focus include continuing the exchange of good practices among Bulgarian communities abroad launched in 2025, organizing the second edition of the Festival of Bulgarian Folklore Ensembles Abroad, preparing a new sports and educational initiative for children and young people, and holding the meeting "Bulgarian Creators Abroad", scheduled for September.

A strategic priority will remain efforts to improve access to higher education in Bulgaria for children and young people from the Bulgarian diaspora, alongside cooperation with Bulgarian communities and organizations on projects aimed at preserving national identity and cultural values. "The Agency consistently works to strengthen ties between Bulgaria and Bulgarian communities worldwide, placing culture, children and active dialogue at the center of its efforts," said SABA Executive Director Rayna Mandjukova.

The Agency also reviewed its activities in 2025, highlighting initiatives aimed at strengthening connections with Bulgarians abroad, supporting cultural activities and encouraging organizational cooperation within the diaspora. Among the key developments were the opening of a Library and Information Center at the agency, the establishment of the Association of Bulgarian Cultural Organizations Abroad, support for international folklore festivals and cultural forums, and the first Festival of Bulgarian Folklore Ensembles Abroad held in Veliko Tarnovo. SABA also continued organizing its three annual student competitions in literature, drawing and singing, with efforts focused on expanding their geographic reach.
