The Sofia Opera is opening its new season with a production of Tosca, 125 years after its premiere, under the baton of Daniel Oren.

The performances will take place on September 26 and 28. Three of today’s most acclaimed singers have been invited for the leading roles – Maria Jose Siri as Tosca, Stefan Pop as Cavaradossi, and Claudio Sgura as Baron Scarpia.

The production, directed by Plamen Kartaloff, is one of the signature works in the repertoire of the national theatre and has remained among the most frequently performed works for fourteen years, successfully presented on international stages including those in Japan and Turkiye.

Tickets for the new season’s productions by the Sofia Opera and Ballet are already on sale.
