Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov will participate in the regular meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on May 22 in Brussels, the Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

The EU Foreign Affairs Council will discuss topical issues on the European Union's agenda, including Russian aggression against Ukraine, the Horn of Africa, Central Asia, Tunisia, the OSCE presidency in 2024, among others.

The foreign ministers of the EU will also hold an informal lunch with the foreign ministers of the six Western Balkan countries.

Following the EU Foreign Affairs Council, a high-level public event will take place on the occasion of the adoption of the new EU Common defence Pact to strengthen the civilian dimension of the EU's common security and defence policy.

At the previous council meeting in April, the Bulgarian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova.
