MPs will hear from outgoing Economy and Industry Minister Peter Dilov on Wednesday on a significant and unjustified increase in prices for essential goods and services, including food and energy. The hearing tops the National Assembly’s agenda.

Later, MPs will hear Dimitar Velichkov, Director of the Sliven Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, and Commissioner Hristo Bletsov, Head of its Investigation Department, over a video posted by vlogger Stanislav Tsankov containing information about an alleged sexual assault against a minor. That hearing will be held in closed doors.

Also scheduled is a hearing on the rising number of cases involving the misuse of video-surveillance cameras. Deputy Minister of Interior Toni Todorov, Commission for Personal Data Protection Chair Borislav Bozhinov and Head of the Cybersecurity Department at the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime Vladimir Dimitrov will answer MPs’ questions.

The agenda further includes a second-reading vote on amendments to the Trademarks and Geographical Indications Act, ratification of international instruments to which Bulgaria is a party, and first-reading consideration of amendments to the Railway Transport Act.
