GERB–UDF Floor Leader Boyko Borissov expressed hope and a desire for the 2026 State Budget to be adopted before New Year. Speaking on Friday in the corridors of Parliament, he added that if the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation reaches an agreement later in the day, an official tripartite meeting is held on Monday, and if everything is in order and the draft budget is submitted to Parliament on Tuesday, it should be reviewed as quickly as possible next week.

Borissov clarified that if a vote of no confidence is submitted, the procedure will become more complicated and delayed. He added that, if necessary, extraordinary parliamentary sittings will be held in order to adopt the 2026 State Budget.

Borissov said he had asked Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova to remove from the budget the provision linking the minimum wage to the average wage.
