site.btaBulgaria among Top Five Export Markets for Turkiye’s Eastern Black Sea Region
Exports from the provinces of Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gumushane, which make up Turkiye’s eastern Black Sea region, reached USD 231.183 million in the first two months of the year.
According to a statement by the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, the top five export destinations among the 100 countries receiving goods from the region in this period were the Russian Federation, Canada, Georgia, Italy and Bulgaria.
Bulgaria is the second-fastest growing export market for these provinces, recording a 65% increase compared to the same period last year.
Canada leads in growth, with exports increasing by 472% last year compared to the previous period.
Exports to the Russian Federation increased by 39%.
Exports to Italy declined by 79%. During the period, exports were shipped for the first time to Vietnam, Tunisia, Thailand, the Philippines and Argentina.
Coal and metals accounted for the largest share of exports to the top five destinations, totalling USD 70,421,000. They were followed by hazelnuts (USD 60,678,000), aquatic and livestock products (USD 37,180,000), and fresh fruits and vegetables (USD 25,252,000).
Trabzon recorded the highest export volume at USD 142,580,000, followed by Rize, Gumushane and Artvin.
