site.btaSofia Scholars Join Zagreb Conference Marking 150 Years of Croatian Studies
A three-day international academic conference marking the 150th anniversary of Croatian Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb concluded in Zagreb on Saturday.
The conference addressed issues related to continuity and turning points in the field of Croatian Studies, Davor Nikolic, deputy head of the Department of Croatian Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb, told Croatian Radio Sljeme.
Lecturers from the Faculty of Slavic Studies at Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski also took part in the international academic conference in Zagreb.
Martin Stefanov, who teaches Slavic Linguistics, delivered a paper on “The Presumptive in Croatian and Its Grammaticalization”.
Lecturers in Slavic Literatures Ina Hristova and Elena Daradanova presented a paper on “Croatian Literature in Bulgaria: Translation, Critical and Scholarly Reception. Continuity and Ruptures in Bilateral Literary Relations”.
