site.btaBulgarian Innovation Minister Meets with Turkish Counterpart in Istanbul
Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Innovation Minister Tomislav Donchev held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Mehmet Fatih Kacir in Istanbul, the Ministry said in a press release on Friday. They discussed new opportunities for cooperation between Bulgaria and Turkiye in the fields of innovation, technology, artificial intelligence and science. The Ministers outlined measures aimed at increasing mutual investments, scientific research, digitalization and innovative projects.
Also taking part in the meeting were Deputy Innovation Minister Krasimir Yakimov and Bulgaria's Consul General in Istanbul Vassil Valchev.
Later, the Deputy Prime Minister took part in a roundtable on bilateral economic relations, organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK). Together with DEİK Chairman Nail Olpak, they discussed attracting investments in high technologies and strengthening bilateral trade relations.
The Innovation Minister also familiarized himself with the latest initiatives and projects of Teknopark Istanbul. During his visit there, opportunities for partnership with Sofia Tech Park were discussed. The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that this year the Discoverer+ supercomputer at Sofia Tech Park has been upgraded. He emphasized the development of the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT) and the forthcoming AI factory BRAIN++ in Sofia, which will be one of six new facilities in the EU.
