site.btaBulgaria Has New Junior Grand Slam Champion: Dimitar Kisimov Wins Australian Open Doubles Title
Bulgarian tennis talent Dimitar Kisimov won his first junior Grand Slam title at the boys' doubles Australian Open tournament on Saturday. Kisimov and Connor Doig from South Africa won the final 6-3 6-3 over Australian team Ymerali Ibraimi and Cooper Kose.
The 17-year-old Kisimov won the trophy in his debut junior Grand Slam competition.
That is the third consecutive junior Grand Slam with Bulgarian champion after Ivan Ivano won the singles titles at Wimbledon and US Open last season.
Kisimov brought Bulgaria its 11th junior Grand Slam title, writing his name in the history books next to those of Manuela Maleeva, Magdalena Maleeva, Sesil Karatancheva, Grigor Dimitrov, Adrian Andreev and Ivan Ivanov.
