site.btaParliament to Have First Reading of Film Industry Act Amendments
Bulgaria’s National Assembly will hold a first reading of proposed amendments to the Film Industry Act. This will be the first item on Thursday’s agenda published on Parliament’s website.
The reasoning to the bill says that the amendments aim to align the application of the de minimis aid scheme for the promotion and showing of films with European legislation and regulatory requirements.
Starting July 1, 2024, no new de minimis aid may be granted under the European regulation unless the law explicitly states that the promotion and showing of films qualify for state aid under as de minimis aid under Regulation (EU) No 2023/2831, according to a report by the Committee on Culture and Media.
Also on Thursday’s agenda is the first reading of amendments to the Health Insurance Act.
Lawmakers are expected to consider a bill to ratify the letters of amendment to the Annex to the Agreement between the Republic of Bulgaria and Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe and Headquarters, Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, supplementing the Paris Protocol. MPs will also consider a bill to ratify a technical agreement on the establishment of an interim framework for the provision of host nation support to the Allied Reaction Forces.
