Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh and Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), have signed an agreement confirming Bulgaria as the host of the 9th Global Conference on Wine Tourism, the Tourism Ministry said on Friday.

The forum will take place in Plovdiv on October 6-7. The agreement was signed at the UN Tourism headquarters in Madrid

"We expect the event to bring together delegations from around the world and to affirm Bulgaria as a preferred tourist destination on the global map. For us, this is a strategic opportunity not only to present Bulgaria as a wine destination, but also to connect wine with the wide range of tourist experiences Bulgaria offers, from mountain and adventure travel to cultural, culinary and urban tourism," said Borshosh as quoted by his Ministry.
