Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov placed 11th in the main competition of the opening round of the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship, the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Tsolov (representing ART Grand Prix) finished fourth in Friday's sprint race, his best standing ever in a Formula 3 competition, which earned him seven points for the season's ranking.

On Saturday he came close to the points zone of the main competition after starting from 11th position on the Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain. The 17-year-old Bulgarian clocked 41:26.088 min, which was 18.076 sec behind the winner, 22-year-old Luke Browning of the UK. The seven points from the season's first round put Tsolov in 10th place in the Formula 3 drivers' ranking, which is topped by Browning with 25 points.
