Inflation in Bulgaria is decreasing at a fairly fast pace, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said during his participation in Friday's question time in Parliament. "In December last year, it was lower even than the Finance Ministry's projections and expectations, which were set in the state budget a few months before the end of the year. The rate of decline is quite serious. I expect it to fall in January as well," the Prime Minister said.

Denkov also said in Parliament that Bulgaria should not "cut off any possibilities for the inclusion of new energy sources" in order not to fall into a situation where it would have to import electricity from neighbouring countries. The reason for his remarks was a question from Vazrazhdane MP Kosta Stoyanov, who accused the parliamentary majority of lobbying because of the law on energy from renewable energy sources voted on first reading. According to Stoyanov, this will lead to a negative impact on the fishing sector and tourism, since wind turbines can be deployed in marine areas.

The aid to Ukraine will also help Europe, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said in response to a question by MP Borislav Gutsanov of BSP for Bulgaria, who asked how much Bulgaria should pay for Ukraine.

The last thing Europe needs is a collapse of Ukraine - both on the front and economically, because the consequences for European countries could be much worse than the EUR 50 billion, the Prime Minister said, referring to recent EU deal to provide aid to Ukraine.

Later, Denkov told journalists in Parliament that he had invited GERB leader Boyko Borissov to a meeting where they would talk about the rotation and evaluations of the ministers' work.
