All Bulgarian rescue workers who participated in the search for survivors following the quakes in Turkiye, return on February 14. The rescue workers, who remained in Turkiye for another week, are part of the second group of the emergency unit of Sofia Municipality, as well as 47 volunteers from the National Association of Volunteers in the Republic of Bulgaria. The first group from the emergency unit returned to Bulgaria on February 11 together with the rescue workers of the Mountain Rescue Service.
Part of the group of volunteers from the Association are travelling back to Bulgaria in their private vehicles, which they used to get to Turkiye, or by buses provided by donors. They were reportdd to be in the area of the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing Tuesday afternoon, Association chair Yasen Tsvetkov told BTA. According to him, the rest of the volunteers will return to Bulgaria on the evening of February 14 by an airplane of the Turkish airlines. They will be joined by the volunteers of the municipal unit.
