Bozhidar Saraboyukov and Plamena Mitkova were presented with awards from the Atletika magazine as Athlete of Bulgaria 2025 and Female Athlete of Bulgaria 2025. They were selected based on the results of a survey. 

Saraboyukov and Mitkova received their awards at a special ceremony in Sofia from Georgi Pavlov, President of the Bulgarian Athletics Federation, and Vesela Lecheva, President-elect of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee.

The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Dimitar Georgiev and Prof. Apostol Slavchev from the Vassil Levski National Sports Academy.

In addition to the best Bulgarian athletes and their coaches, the ceremony also honoured partners of Bulgarian athletics, individuals, and institutions that contributed to the successes of the past year.

Lecheva received a special plaque. "It is truly an exceptional honour for me to receive this gift, this gesture of appreciation," Lecheva commented.
