Malena Zamfirova reached the quarterfinals of the women’s parallel giant slalom at the FIS Alpine Snowboard World Cup in Bansko, where she was stopped by Ramona Theresia Hofmeister of Germany, who was aiming for her fourth consecutive victory in Bansko.
In the semifinals, Hofmeister was stopped by the leader in the overall World Cup standings, Tsubaki Miki of Japan, who had defeated Julie Zogg of Switzerland in the quarterfinals.
In the other semifinal, the Italian riders Elisa Caffont and Lucia Dalmasso faced each other. In the quarterfinals, they had beaten Aleksandra Krol-Walas of Poland and Annamari Dancha of Ukraine, respectively. Caffont won after Dalmasso crashed and will face Miki in the final.
