Following Sunday's mass shooting at a Hanukkah event in Sydney, which left at least 12 dead, Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev said on the X platform that this "appalling act of violence against the Jewish community must be unequivocally condemned". 

"I am deeply shocked by the distressing images from the shooting during the Hanukkah celebrations at Bondi Beach in Australia. This appalling act of violence against the Jewish community must be unequivocally condemned. My thoughts are with all those affected and their families," said the outgoing chief diplomat. Bulgaria's government resigned on December 11.

The Foreign Ministry said on Facebook no Bulgarian citizens were reported among the casualties in the shooting.

At least 12 people were killed and almost 30 wounded when gunmen fired on a Jewish holiday event at Sydney's Bondi Beach on Sunday in what Australian police and officials described as a terrorist attack, Reuters reported.
