site.btaGovernment Has Secured Additional BGN 4 Mln for Young People in Bulgaria, Youth Minister Says

After the Council of Ministers' meeting on Tuesday, Minister of Youth and Sports Ivan Peshev said the Government has "provided an additional BGN 4,000,000 for the youth centres in eight Bulgarian municipalities in order to ensure their sustainability and development in line with the National Youth Strategy (2021-2030)."

The funds approved are part of the Cabinet's governance programme, aimed at supporting activities under programmes funded by the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism.

"The youth centres in Stara Zagora, Burgas, Plovdiv, Gabrovo, Montana, Vratsa, Dobrich and Pernik will receive BGN 500,000 per municipality. This support will determine the further development and sustainability of youth initiatives," the Minister added.

In 2025, the funding will be maintained, and for the period 2026-2030, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is working on a special programme for long-term funding of youth centres, which will ensure the continued growth and development of youth activities in the country.
