Bulgarian tennis players who claimed European titles in 2023 were presented with commemorative plaquettes by the Bulgarian Tennis Federation (BTF) on Saturday.

Just before the 2023 Sofia Open’s singles final between Jack Draper and Adrian Mannarino on Arena Sofia's main court, Rositsa Dencheva and Elizara Yaneva, winners of the doubles title at the European 16 & Under Championships in Parma, Italy, were honoured with plaquettes. Dencheva also triumphed at the U18 European Championships.

The national U16 team’s coach, Hristosko Atanasov, was also awarded with a plaquette.

The team that won the European Junior Championships 18 & Under also includes Iva Ivanova and Alexandra Gabrovska and coach Velian Bakalov, who were unable to attend the ceremony due to personal commitments. The team title in this age group was the second in a row for Bulgaria, and the U16 title was the first in the history of Bulgarian tennis.

The plaquettes were handed out by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Prof. Daniela Dasheva, BTF member Georgi Chochev, and Bulgarian tennis legend Magdalena Maleeva.
