Jiangsu Province is ready to deepen its economic cooperation with Bulgaria, Vice Governor Li Zhongjun said on Wednesday during a Bulgarian-Chinese conference on trade and economic cooperation in Sofia. Held at Hyatt Regency Sofia, the event was jointly organized by the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency and the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria.
In his remarks, the Vice Governor said that Jiangsu is one of China’s leading provinces, with a gross domestic product of USD 1.9 trillion and USD 19 billion in foreign investment. He noted that bilateral relations between China and Bulgaria have been progressing steadily in recent years, with trade volume reaching USD 440 million.
Li Zhongjun pointed to significant opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as steel production and new energy technologies. He emphasized Bulgaria’s strengths in automotive parts manufacturing and artificial intelligence.
He noted that Jiangsu is a global leader in the export of photovoltaic modules and is ready to share its experience and expertise with Bulgaria.
