site.btaWizz Air Has Carried Over 30 Mln Passengers to and from Bulgaria in 20 Years

“In the past two decades, we have flown over 30 million passengers to and from Bulgaria, based nine aircraft – seven in Sofia and two in Varna – and expanded our network to 55 routes,” said Dayana Georgieva, Wizz Air’s ambassador in Bulgaria and a member of the cabin crew. The company made the statement as it marked its 20th anniversary in this country.

To celebrate the milestone, Wizz Air is organising several initiatives this week, including an interactive “Treasure Hunt” game in Sofia on 19 September. Participants will be asked to follow a series of clues published on the airline’s official Instagram account, leading them to four locations in the capital. The first person to arrive at a location and say the secret phrase will win two roundtrip tickets to destinations across Wizz Air’s network.

Meanwhile, only a few days remain before the close of regular registration for the Wizz Air Sofia Marathon 2025, which takes place on 11–12 October. The deadline for signing up via the event’s official website is 20 September. Organisers report record-high interest, with more than 7,000 participants expected.
