Information events within the National Information Campaign for the Introduction of the Euro in Bulgaria, will be held in Dobrich, Etropole and Elena on Wednesday. The aim of the campaign is to provide citizens with clear, detailed and reliable information on the main stages and deadlines of the euro introduction process.
The event is a joint effort between the responsible institutions, including the Ministry of Finance, the Bulgarian National Bank, the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Consumer Protection Commission, the National Revenue Agency, the Financial Supervision Commission, the National Social Security Institute, and others.
Experts from the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) will explain how to convert currencies correctly, what the requirements for traders are under the Law on the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria, what Bulgarians' rights are as consumers, and how to report violations. Participants will be able to ask questions.
The nationwide information campaign was launched in Burgas (on the Black Sea) on September 2. It then moved on to Stara Zagora, Plovdiv and Targovishte.
Bulgaria is set to adopt the euro as of January 1, 2026, becoming the 21st member of the eurozone. From August 8 this year, prices must be displayed in both currencies, which is being monitored by the CPC.
