A Council of Ministers draft decree proposing a poverty line of BGN 764 for 2026, up from the current BGN 638, will be discussed on Tuesday by the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation, made up of representatives of the government, unions and business, the Council of Ministers said.
The draft decree was published on July 2 for 30-day public consultation. The poverty line is a monetary indicator used in shaping state policies on income and living standards and in determining social protection measures. Its amount is set annually.
