Three new food and beverage venues with a combined capacity of over 280 seats have opened in the dining zone of Terminal 2 at Vasil Levski Sofia Airport, the airport operator, SOF Connect, said on Wednesday.

The new establishments offer fresh Italian cuisine, British and English specialties, and a variety of beverages, said SOF Connect CEO Jesus Caballero. He noted that the new spaces cover nearly 1,000 square metres and added that a terrace and additional dining areas are also planned as part of the construction of the future Terminal 3, expected to be completed by 2030.

“These venues are designed for people on the move,” said Christos Orthodoxou, System Structure and Parameterization (SSP) Managing Director for Eastern Europe. “Every journey brings stress, so we’ve created a pleasant setting with quality food,” he added.

The venues are part of a long-term strategy to upgrade the airport’s infrastructure and improve services for passengers. The project was carried out by SOF Connect and SSP. The process took two and a half years.

The opening ceremony was attended by British Ambassador to Bulgaria Nathaniel Copsey, who wished success to the new food and beverage outlets.
