The Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA) is willing to contribute to a nationwide campaign of the Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP) to raise public awareness about the planned euro changeover in the country, the BICA press office said on Tuesday. The association offers to participate through its regional and sectoral departments and to assist the organization of events at the regional level.
The matter was discussed at a meeting between BICA and CCP. Maria Filipova, the CCP Chair, briefed the employer organization on the regulator’s plans to facilitate businesses, protect consumers and exercise control over the domestic market in the process of Bulgaria’s accession to the euro area.
The sides discussed ways to provide targeted information to micro- small and medium-sized enterprises, which are a key segment of the national economy and need timely and accessible expertise in adapting to the single European currency.
