“Obzor Beach is the face of our tourism, and we are very proud of our coastline. The four concession zones are perfectly organized, well-maintained, and impeccably clean,” said the coastal town’s Mayor, Hristo Yanev, in an interview with BTA. 

For yet another year, the central beach in Obzor has received the prestigious international “Blue Flag” award. According to him, the award was well-deserved. “The concessionaires are fully prepared to welcome the new summer season. In the coming days, the beach establishments offering delicious food and summer drinks will also open,” he added.

“The beach has no shortcomings whatsoever. I’d like to note that all the concessionaires here are doing an excellent job. Through mutual effort and communication, we are managing to deliver a better and more modern service to holidaymakers,” the Mayor said, pointing out that Obzor’s beach is one of the largest and most impressive along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

Stretching nearly 10 kilometers in length and up to 60 meters in width, the beach offers ample space for all visitors.

“The requirement for 50 percent of the area to be a free zone has been strictly met. Sunbathing there is completely free of charge,” Yanev explained, emphasizing that the tourism business in Obzor is developing in a very positive direction, once again offering a high-quality tourist service this year.

Just days before the official start of the summer season, a BTA reporter found that umbrellas and sun loungers were already in place on the sand, along with lifeguard stations, restrooms, changing cabins, showers, and a medical station.

BTA is presenting all 30 Bulgarian beaches and harbours awarded the Blue Flag by the international jury of the Programme in Copenhagen. It is the 30th anniversary of the first award for the country - the pilot Blue Flag was raised on Sunny Beach on July 4, 1995.
