Deputy Tourism Minister Pavlin Petrov said tourism in Bansko is a way of life passed down through generations. Speaking at the official opening of the 2025/2026 winter season on Saturday, he said this is reflected in the town's rich calendar of sporting events, crafts, cultural activities and historical programmes.

"Bansko proves not only that it is developing, but that it is beginning to lead the way in the development of winter tourism in Bulgaria," Petrov said. The Deputy Minister added that when the state, municipalities and businesses work together, results are visible.

Bansko opened the winter season in the presence of ski legends Giorgio Rocca and Marc Girardelli.
