site.btaTokyo Hosts Third Bulgarian Public Speaking Competition in Japan
The third Bulgarian-language public speaking competition in Japan is taking place on Sunday, December 14, in Tokyo. The event is organized by the Embassy of Bulgaria in Japan in cooperation with the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, the Embassy says on the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry's website.
Participants in the language competition are divided into three categories: “Beginner and Intermediate Students,” “Advanced Students,” and “Working Professionals.”
Each participant has the opportunity to deliver a speech in Bulgarian on a topic of their choice for up to three minutes. The aim of the competition is for participants to improve their Bulgarian-language skills and to establish friendships with others who also speak Bulgarian.
First, second, and third prizes will be awarded, the Embassy says. The first prize for the “Beginner and Intermediate” student will be a trip to Bulgaria, while the first prize for the “Advanced” student will be the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for a day.
The two previous Bulgarian-language public speaking competitions in Japan were held in 2023 and 2024, both times in Osaka.
