Bulgaria is participating for the first time in the European Film Festival in Mongolia, whose fourth edition opened on the evening of June 23 in Ulaanbaatar. The announcement was made by the Bulgarian Embassy in Mongolia on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The opening night began with the German film 22 Lengths, followed by the screening of the Bulgarian film "The Trap", directed by Nadejda Koseva.

Before the screening, Bulgarian Charge d'Affaires Alexandrina Gigova addressed the audience. She introduced the film, which was written by Boyan Papasov, and highlighted the national and international awards it has received at film festivals.

Among the film's accolades are the Best Lead Performance Award for Alexandr Trifonov at the Southeast European Film Festival in Los Angeles, California, as well as the Special Jury Prize, the Best Actor Award for Alexandr Trifonov, and the Best Cinematography Award for Kiril Prodanov at the Golden Rose 2024 Bulgarian Feature Film Festival, the Embassy added.
