As of December 31, 2024, Bulgaria has 839 detached creches and groups within kindergartens, offering a total of 33,480 places, according to a National Statistical Institute (NSI) report released on Friday.

The number of children accommodated in creches at the end of the year was 30,367, of whom 15,635 were boys and 14,732 - girls.

The total number of places in creches per 100 children aged up to 3 years was 19.9, and the coverage of children brought up in creches - 18 per 100 children in the same age group.
