The Sofia Tourism Municipal Enterprise, Visit Sofia, presented the Bulgarian capital as a leading destination for conference and congress tourism at IBTM World Barcelona 2025, which was held from November 18 to 20 in Barcelona.

Visit Sofia emphasized that the conference was one of the most prestigious global events in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events industry and that Sofia participated with an independent stand, confirming its position as a modern, accessible and competitive destination for congresses, conferences and corporate events.

The Visit Sofia team presented a variety of opportunities that the city offers to event organizers, such as modern congress and exhibition centres, a selection of business hotels with high-class services, convenient transport connectivity and cultural and historical heritage, which turns Sofia into an inspiring destination.

The aim of the participation is to place a strategic focus on the development of congress and business tourism, which is expected to increase Sofia's international recognition, attract new investments and establish the capital as a modern, dynamic and innovative centre for business events, Visit Sofia noted.

This year's edition of IBTM World attracted over 2,500 exhibitors and more than 12,000 professionals from over 150 countries.
