More than 100 scientists from Bulgaria and abroad will take part in the 15th edition of the Sofia Science Festival at Sofia Tech Park from May 8 to 11, the organizers from the Beautiful Science Foundation said here on Friday.
The official opening of the event will be held on May 8 in front of the John Atanasoff Forum building.
The festival program includes over 120 events - lectures, demonstrations, discussions, workshops, exhibitions, and science shows, as well as researchers from Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, France, Cyprus, and Greece. Topics will cover current scientific and technological issues such as quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, climate change, health, space, and the connection between science and art, the organizers noted.
Except for the leading scientists such as Prof. Nikolay Vitanov, Prof. Chad Jenkins, Prof. Svetla Danova, and Dr. Zornitsa Spassova, some of the highlights will be two BBC episodes, featuring Bulgarian scientists and British hosts answering questions from the audience.
The festival offers a rich children’s program featuring interactive workshops, science performances, and films. Students from Sofia schools will serve as trainee reporters, covering the events from their peers’ perspective, the organizers added.
On May 11, the national final of the FameLab Bulgaria 2025 competition will take place, featuring 12 finalists from various scientific fields. The winner will represent Bulgaria at the international final at CERN.
