site.btaApril Issue of LIK Magazine Presents Bulgaria at World Expos

The April issue of the Bulgarian News Agency's LIK magazine for literature, art, and culture is on the topic of "Bulgaria at the World Expos". The issue was inspired by the opening of the World Expo in Osaka on April 13, in which Bulgaria is presented with its own pavilion of the highest class, Type A. 

The issue is to be translated into English and Japanese. It will be presented on May 18 via video connection to the Bulgarian pavilion in Osaka, when Bulgaria Day at EXPO 2025 is celebrated. The event will be held simultaneously at the BTA's MaxiM Hall in Sofia and at the Agency's national press clubs in Bulgaria and abroad.

The April issue of LIK begins with the words of Bulgarian writer and public figure Aleko Konstantinov, who in his works tells about several world exhibitions; his travelogue To Chicago and Back reflects his trip to the World's Fair in Chicago in 1893.

The magazine presents highlights of the news about diplomatic and cultural relations between Bulgaria and Japan, preserved in the BTA archives.

The BTA edition also features a brief history of world exhibitions, which began with the 1851 Great Exhibition in London.

LIK's latest issue also provides more information about the BTA archives themselves, presented in a separate article in the issue.

In April, BTA sent a special correspondent to Japan, reporter Ivan Lazarov, who covered the opening of the Bulgarian pavilion in Osaka.

As of January 2024, access to the Bulgarian News Agency's LIK magazine has been free of charge. All electronic issues from 2022 to present, including those translated in English, are available on BTA's website. The April issue of LIK can be accessed here.
