The Black Sea Mussel Weekend will take place in Burgas between June 9 and June 11. Many of the restaurants in the seaside town, which have joined the initiative of the local municipality, will offer visitors dishes prepared with the delicious delicacy, Burgas municipality reported.

Freshly baked mussels on a tin can be tasted during the three thematic days by visitors to the island of St. Anastasia. Early in the morning divers will take the first harvest of mussels from the underwater farm. The tasting will be free of charge for all guests and tourists, the island management said, adding that the mussels are one of the island's trademarks.

On June 9, the "Clean Black Sea" initiative will take place on St. Anastasia with divers taking part in it and cleaning the water area near the island. St. Anastasia's beach bar will also be opened.

On June 10, the Natural History Museum - Burgas will organize another event: a children's science workshop, who will have the opportunity to learn about the mussels and snails that inhabit the Black Sea.
