Talking to journalists in Parliament's lobby on Thursday, Velichie leader Ivelin Mihaylov said that Russia is 100% informed about everything happening in NATO and the EU. "Everyone knows that Bulgaria informs Russia at the highest state level. Vazrazhdane have a contract with the United Russia party. With this in mind, people should not be worried or give in to the fears being spread. Bulgaria will not go to war. This is 100% true, 100% decided," he said.

Mihaylov emphasized that the public had started being scared with talks of war, describing it as a “familiar trick” used by GERB leader Boyko Borissov, Movement for Rights and Freedoms – New Beginning Floor Leader Delyan Peevski, and some opposition figures to deflect attention from the real issues.

He also commented on an October 1 resolution by which the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) closed its 26-year-long post-monitoring dialogue with Bulgaria. “PACE says there is no corruption in Bulgaria, that we have moved forward, that we have become a state governed by the rule of law, that we meet the standards. How is it possible then that the leader of a parliamentary group is subjected to an embargo by other parliamentary groups in power? We have no legal rules, no functioning institutions. Very often, we also lack media freedom, because this is not being reported,” Velichie leader said.
