Customs officers found a total of nearly 245,000 smuggled cigarettes during an inspection of a truck and a minibus at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, the Customs Agency in Svilengrad said on Wednesday.

Over 140,000 pieces of cigarettes were found during an inspection of a truck driven by a Bulgarian citizen, who transported aluminum profiles from Turkiye to Bulgaria. Another 103,000 cigarettes were found in a minibus with Romanian registration, hidden in the personal luggage of one of the passengers, who was traveling from Turkiye to Romania.

Acts were drawn up against the violators in both cases.
