No arrests have been made at this time, Miroslav Rashkov, acting Secretary General of the Interior Ministry, told journalists on Tuesday in connection with an ongoing operation in Sofia and across the country at the request of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. Earlier in the day, the Supreme Prosecution Office of Cassation said it is supervising searches and seizures in homes and offices of arms dealers across Bulgaria following a request from Kyiv related to an investigation of corruption in Ukraine involving the sale of weapons at inflated prices.

Rashkov specified that the operation is being carried out in several regions under the control of the National Investigation Service. Addresses in several cities are being searched, he added.

Participating in the searches are numerous investigators from the NIS, employees of the Interior Ministry's General Directorate (DG) for Combatting Organized Crime and DG Gendarmerie, Special Operations and Counter-Terrorism.
