The Council of Ministers Wednesday adopted a decision to withdraw its consent for Boris Halachev to serve as Honorary Consul of Estonia in Sofia following his passing, the Government Information Service reported. By the same decision, the Council of Ministers approved the appointment of Bogomil Marinov as Honorary Consul of Estonia in Sofia, with a consular district covering Sofia Region.

The appointment of Marinov, a Bulgarian national and a lawyer and entrepreneur by trade, will bring new opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation across a broad range of fields and help foster ties and partnerships between Bulgarian and Estonian cultural and business communities.

Maintaining an active Estonian honorary consular presence in Sofia is crucial to further deepening diplomatic relations between the two countries.
