After on Tuesday Bulgaria cleared the last hurdle to eurozone membership in 2026, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov read a declaration on behalf of his party in Parliament on Wednesday, which stated that Bulgaria will be removed from the eurozone unilaterally. He said that Bulgaria will be forced to take subsequent actions to eliminate the eurozone and “blow up the European financial system” because this system works against Bulgarian national interests.
Kostadinov labelled Bulgaria's euro area entry illegitimate, since it was based on fake data about inflation, the budget deficit, and on denying the right to a national referendum.
The leader of Vazrazhdane said that starting now, the European Commission and most members of the European Parliament (EP) have become enemies of the Bulgarian people. He noted, however, that not everyone in the EP voted in favour of Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone, as 135 MEPs abstained or voted against.
The declaration read: "We will do everything we say, even if we face an extremely strong and powerful global enemy who is an enemy not only of the Bulgarian people, but of humanity as a whole." Kostadinov accused this enemy of killing Christianity, Europe, and "our civilization".
He proceeded to accuse the European Central Bank (ECB) of trying to eliminate cash payments by 2030, which would "bring digital slavery to the European people". He urged the public to keep their money away from banks, to pay cash, to not use the euro, because "It will soon become clear that this currency has only one direction – downwards." He continued: "For two consecutive years, the ECB has been operating at a loss, and now, with the funds stolen from the Bulgarian treasury, from the currency board buffer of between BGN 25 and 32 billion, they will be able to balance the budget for a year or two, but the eurozone is doomed. And those who are putting us on this Titanic will bear their criminal responsibility very soon, because historical processes are not in favour of globalism."
Kostadinov concluded that on Tuesday, Bulgaria lost its national sovereignty. He stated: "We do not have many options left, except the one we have now – to fight until victory, because nothing is lost until everything is lost."
