The branch of the Angel Kanchev University of Ruse in Taraclia, Moldova, will be able to admit up to 150 students of Bulgarian descent to bachelor’s and master’s programmes and five to PhD programmes, the Council of Ministers decided at its meeting on Tuesday.

The aim is to meet the educational needs of those living in the region by providing access to modern, high-quality European education. This would provide them with decent career development opportunities and would further strengthen Bulgaria's policy towards the Bulgarian diaspora in the region, the Council of Ministers said.

The university branch in Taraclia is vital to maintaining the link between Bulgaria and the Bulgarian community in Moldova, which necessitates both increasing the admission quotas and holding on-site examinations to facilitate candidates.
