The Council of Ministers Wednesday approved Bulgaria's position (from the Interior Ministry's competence) to join the joint letter of 18 Member States about new solutions to irregular migration to the EU. The letter was circulated within the informal group on migration initiated by Austria and Denmark, aimed at discussing innovative solutions for sustainable management of migration to the Union, the Government Information Service said.

The group has 19 members, including Bulgaria. The joint letter reflects the main ideas from the separate documents reviewed by group on which an agreement has been reach.

Bulgaria expresses a general positive evaluation of the reviewed package of documents, in light of them meeting key elements of Bulgaria's position on migration management. The text of the draft joint letter is general enough, and in that sense Bulgaria supports it and joins the letter through the Interior Minister's signature.
