Bulgaria welcomes the Turkish parliament's decision to ratify Finland's accession to NATO, the Foreign Ministry wrote Friday in a post on Twitter.
"We hope that Finland and Sweden will soon become full NATO members," the Ministry wrote.
According to the Ministry, their membership will improve European security, send a strong message about NATO's strength and confirm the "open door" policy.
Later in the evening on Thursday, the Turkish parliament unanimously ratified Finland's accession to NATO, which had been blocked since last May. The Finnish application, which has already been approved by all 30 NATO member states, was ratified by the votes of the 276 voting members of parliament.
However, Sweden's application, submitted at the same time as Finland's, remains blocked by Ankara.
