site.btaElection Monitoring System Gets Demoed at Ministry of e-Government

A demonstration of the video recording and streaming system to be used in the April elections took place at the Ministry of e-Government in Sofia on Tuesday. Information Services AD has been contracted to provide technical support for the monitoring and video capture, including for the software and hardware required.
At the demonstration, Executive Director of Information Services, Ivaylo Filipov, showed a demo of the platform, which will provide real-time video feed as well as recordings. The recordings will be uploaded to the platform, once they are available at the Central Election Commission. Once the stream is over, the footage will not be automatically uploaded to the video streaming and monitoring platform, Filipov said.
The site is free to access. The official portal is being fine-tuned.
Mobile operators estimate that between 1,000 and 2,000 stations will lack coverage and the ability to stream in real time. Negotiations are underway with the operators to deploy mobile stations to reduce the number of stations without coverage.
A test of the system is scheduled for Saturday, where the code will be scanned again, with the test lasting about 10 seconds, Filipov reported.
Caretaker Minister of e-Government, Georgi Todorov, pointed out that the total number of devices for recording and streaming is 12,130, including the spare ones.
