site.btaInterior Minister Announces Three New Deputies, Acting Secretary General and Possible Changes at Head of Regional Police Departments

As of Tuesday, the political cabinet at the Interior Ministry is being joined by three new Deputy Interior Ministers: Ivan Anchev, Kaloyan Kaloyanov, and Kaloyan Miltenov, caretaker Interior Minister Emil Dechev told BNR.

Georgi Kandev takes over as acting Deputy Secretary General. Dechev said he will not propose a permanent Secretary General.

As for the directors of the regional police departments, the minister said that these offices should be held by persons who will do their best to prevent electoral manipulations, vote buying and controlled voting in the April 19 elections. "We will use information on high-risk polling stations. Where there have been problems, replacements will likely follow," Dechev said.
